The Office of the Special Council has ordered Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue to reimburse the government for an August trip to North Carolina to promote the Farmers to Families Food Box program. During the trip, Perdue appeared with President Trump and encouraged people to vote for Trump’s reelection. That is considered a violation of the Hatch Act, which forbids most executive branch employees from engaging in political activity.
