BASF Seed Advisor Rob Hamann says farmers are starting to desiccate the crop. “There’s been a few odd fields getting harvested and I haven’t heard yields on those yet, but the majority of harvest will be around the corner here,” said Hamann. “We’re expecting a good canola crop. In the southwest part of North Dakota, the crop is being harvested and people are pleased with how the crop is performing.” Fall 2019 still looms in the back of farmers’ minds. “I think we all remember what happened last year with the early snow and the weather turning on us. With that in mind, we’re getting later in the season so farmers may want to speed up crop drying down as much as possible where it’s allowed.”
