During uncertain times, the National Pork Board is helping hog farmers navigate a downward market and ongoing coronavirus concerns. The goal is to help restore both producer and consumer confidence. “For example, we’re talking about how pork is safe,” says David Newman, president. “With so many people staying at home and cooking, pork is a protein that’s very diverse and there’s a lot of different meals to prepare.” Newman goes on to say the coronavirus outbreak is not an animal health issue, but instead a human health concern.
