The 2019 growing season may be a wake-up call for farmers. North Dakota Livestock Alliance Executive Director Amber Boeshans says animal agriculture can help utilize the feedstuffs grown in the state. “This past year made it very evident that we need more livestock in this state to help our producers and landowners during challenging time. It gives us an alternative market for feed and for manure.” The NDLA helps farmers, ranchers and communities develop or expand livestock production. Boeshans says that livestock culture has been lost over time. That can be changed by educating community leaders about modern day agriculture.
