Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation voting delegates are considering priorities during the 101st annual meeting this weekend. MFBF Public Policy Director Amber Hanson Glaeser says it’s one of the best parts of the meeting. “There’s always something new. I think we’ll hear the continuing challenges facing agriculture. It’s no secret it’s rough out there,” says Glaeser. “Making sure we’re focusing on how to help farmers through times of financial and emotional challenges. How do we make sure 2020 goes smoother through things we can change as an organization?” With an election year ahead, there’s hope lawmakers will move on the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement before 2020. “Hopefully lawmakers can buckle down so we can get a vote on the USMCA so farmers and ranchers have certainty. Getting the USMCA ratified would be the perfect step in the right direction.”
