There currently is a propane crunch in southern Minnesota. Not only are farmers drying a very wet corn crop, but there is also strong demand for home heating. MinnStar Bank Senior Vice President Kent Thiesse says the situation has intensified over the past week. “We still have corn to harvest and the moisture content is still in the 21-to-25 percent range so we need propane.” Thiesse thinks propane supplies are sufficient. The problem lies in getting the fuel to its appropriate destination.
