Pioneer Field Representative J.J Jaehning says crop conditions are variable across southeastern North Dakota. “Heat is the main issue right now; there’s plenty of moisture. We have a wide spectrum of crop maturity at this point.” The soybean crop is slowly moving toward maturity. “The soybeans are ranging from R5 to R5.5. We’re putting seed on at this point,” says Jaehning. “It’s tough with soybeans this time of the year for a good estimate on yield. After all we’ve gone through, the soybean crop handled cold conditions better than the corn did.”
