Bayer has signed an agreement to sell a portion of its assets to BASF for $2.1 billion. This package includes certain seed treatment products, the digital farming platform and its global seed business. This deal was necessary to gain regulatory approval for Bayer’s acquisition of Monsanto. The Bayer-Monsanto merger is expected to be finalized in the second quarter.
