With the Democrats flipping the House and Senate, a lot of attention has been paid to Democratic wins in Texas, Michigan, and Kansas. For agriculture, Colorado Senator Michael Bennet is now the likely new chair of the Senate Ag Committee. Ohio Representative Chantel Brown and California Representative Jim Costa have both been seeking the chairmanship of the House Ag Committee. The current Ag Committee Chair, Glenn G. T. Thompson, easily won re-election, but must secure a waiver from his caucus to remain in the leadership role. Georgia Congressman Austin Scott has also said he wants to lead the Republicans on the House Ag Committee. Whatever happens, it appears Arkansas Senator John Bozeman may be the only of the four corners who will be on the job in the new Congress.
