The two caucuses have elected leadership for the 2027-2028 Legislature. Representative Zack Stephenson is the incoming speaker. Stephenson is a county prosecutor from Coon Rapids who previously worked for Governor-elect Amy Klobuchar. Representative Jamie Long, a Minneapolis attorney, will continue as the majority leader. Representative Harry Niska, a lawyer at Ramsey, is the new minority leader. Niska succeeds former Speaker Lisa Demuth, who lost her bid for the Governor’s Office. Committee chairs were not named.
