Harvest wrapped up near Wyndmere, North Dakota, following a growing season marked by limited summer rainfall. Farmer Carson Klosterman says the operation was able to finish before wet weather arrived. “Corn went smooth and just glad we got that done before all the rain fell on us here,” Klosterman said. Much of the fall tillage and fertilizer application was also completed ahead of the rain. “We got a lot of strip tilling done and fertilizer put down. So again, if we don’t get back out in the fields, we’re sitting in a good spot.” While the moisture has slowed remaining fieldwork, Klosterman says it is welcome heading into the next growing season. “The rain’s needed to get us recharged for spring of twenty seventh, so we’ll take it.”
