CHS finished the fiscal year with net income of $1.1 billion, up from $598 million a year ago. CHS reports strong oilseed crush and ethanol margins in its grains business, but that was partially offset by reduced retail margins and trade policy. The energy segment had record refining margins, but also record-high expenses for renewable energy credits. Agronomy volumes were down, but CHS’ investment with CF Industries in the fertilizer business remains positive. CHS also announced plans to distribute $300 million in cash patronage and equity redemptions to owners in 2027. That’s a 150 percent increase over last year.
