Certified Angus Beef reports global sales of more than 1.2 billion pounds during its latest fiscal year. That’s down less than one percent from last year despite tight cattle supplies and higher beef prices. Certified Angus Beef Prime sales climbed more than 12 percent to a record 63.3 million pounds. The number of cattle qualifying for the brand fell six percent to 5.42 million head, while the acceptance rate approached 38 percent. Foodservice sales increased nearly two percent, but international sales declined more than eight percent. Canada, South Korea and Mexico remained the brand’s largest export markets.
