Environmental and public-health groups are suing the Environmental Protection Agency over water-quality standards for atrazine. The lawsuit argues EPA has failed to complete Clean Water Act criteria for the widely used corn herbicide after beginning the process more than 25 years ago. The groups want a court-ordered timeline for proposed and final standards. EPA is separately reviewing atrazine’s pesticide registration. The complaint was filed October 14 in federal court in California.
