U.S. farm debt is projected to reach a record $605.1 billion in 2026, up 4.6 percent from last year. USDA estimates include $399 billion in real estate debt and $206 billion in non-real estate debt. The total could be higher because borrowing through equipment dealers, cooperatives and other nontraditional lenders may not be fully captured in USDA estimates.
