USDA is issuing approximately $1.8 billion in Conservation Reserve Program payments to farmers and landowners for 2026. The Farm Service Agency accepted nearly one million new acres into Grassland CRP, which allows producers to maintain grazing and haying activities while receiving rental payments. Minnesota and South Dakota rank among the top five states receiving CRP payments this year. USDA expects total CRP enrollment to reach 26.8 million acres for fiscal year 2027.
