President Donald Trump has signed an executive order providing immediate relief for high diesel costs. “I’m announcing another unprecedented step to bring down costs,” Trump told a Nebraska audience. “For many years, farm vehicles, construction equipment, and other off road vehicles have used what is known as red dye diesel. Do you know what that is? I don’t know what the hell it is, but whatever it is is supposed to be very good.” The order temporarily allows tax-free dyed diesel to be used on highways and defers the federal diesel tax on that fuel without interest or penalties. This executive order is in place through the end of the year.
