Four to six inches of rain over the past few weeks slowed progress in the soybeans in the Arthur, North Dakota area, but drought remains the bigger story when it comes to yields. “I’d have to say we ranged from 15 to 35 bushels an acre,” said Kevin Skunes. “More down in the 20-bushel range, it was kind of all over the board depending on soil type.” Skunes expects to finish soybeans before moving into corn, possibly the the week ahead. Early indications suggest corn yields will also vary widely. “We’re looking at maybe the 50 to 100 bushel in that range. It’s not a good deal.”
