South Dakota State University has three finalists to be its vice president for research and economic development. The associate dean for research in SDSU’s College of Agriculture Food and Environmental Services, John Blanton Jr. is the one local candidate. The other finalists are Thomas Risch, who is the vice chancellor for research at Rutgers University and Nicholas Hammond, the former associate vice president for innovation at Indiana State University.
