The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association is expressing frustration with the Trump administration’s decision to import additional beef. NDSA Vice President Tim Erbele said producers worry the move could create more market uncertainty at a time when the U.S. cattle inventory remains tight. “We do feel a little bit like we got sold out by the administration,” Erbele said. He argued additional imports could weaken producer confidence and slow efforts to rebuild the cow herd. Erbele also said higher corn prices could reduce carcass weights, potentially limiting domestic beef production. “You could argue that it’s actually gonna have the opposite effect.”
