According to research from the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Market Intel, the Trump Administration’s decision to temporarily expand the tariff-rate quota for lean beef trimming imports has not lowered ground beef prices for the consumer. Farm Bureau tracked daily prices of 80 percent ground beef at 40 grocery stores since the decision went into effect. At 30 of those stores, ground beef prices have not changed. Only three supermarkets delivered on the 25 percent discount that was advocated by the White House.
