North Dakota FFA members tried their hand at a different kind of career development event during the Big Iron Farm Show. Fifteen students participated in the first FFA auctioneering contest through a partnership with the North Dakota Auctioneers Association. The students began with several hours of instruction at Steffes Auctioneers before putting their newly learned auction chants and crowd-interaction skills to work in competition. “I was very proud of all of them for making the trip, number one, and saying yes to something that’s scary and never been done before,” said North Dakota FFA Foundation Executive Director Laiken DeMorrett.
