The Minnesota Soybean Growers Association is keeping pressure on the EPA over small refinery exemptions and renewable fuel requirements. A Minnesota Soybean representative says the EPA approved exemptions for several small refineries, but also committed to moving the waived Renewable Volume Obligations into 2026 or 2027. “The EPA did approve the exemptions for a number of small refineries, but gave a very firm commitment that they were gonna move over the RVOs, the renewable volume obligations, to ’26 or ’27” said Kyle Jore, MSGA vice president. “We’re definitely pushing on them to make sure to commit to that here by the end of October so we can continue to maintain a real healthy soybean price here as we’ve had the markets.” Minnesota Soybean was at the Big Iron Farm Show to hear directly from growers about state and federal policy priorities.
