Facts alone may not be enough to change minds about agriculture. Communication strategist Vance Crowe, speaking Thursday at the Next 5 Years Conference in Fargo, said farmers and the agriculture industry need to become better storytellers. “I make the case that everything you know is in the form of a story,” Crowe said. “If people believe something different than what you believe, it’s because they have a different story.” He said being able to express ideas through stories is important because stories shape what people know and believe.
