According to the North Dakota Monitor, Summit Carbon Solutions will not move forward with two of the three projects to store carbon dioxide underground in the state. A North Dakota district court voided permits for all three sites earlier this year, but Summit is appealing the decision for the one remaining storage area. The plan was to move CO2 from ethanol plants in five Midwestern states to sites in central North Dakota. Summit now plans to utilize a storage site in Wyoming, but may develop the North Dakota site later.
