Tariffs are adding another layer of uncertainty for agriculture, particularly in trade between the U.S. and Canada. The potential impact includes higher costs for farm machinery and replacement parts. Kyle Peacock, a principal with Peacock Tariff Consulting, said farm equipment parts could be especially affected. “If a replacement part costs $1,000 coming from Canada into the U.S., now it’s going to cost $1,000 plus $500 per item.” Peacock said equipment dealers are unlikely to absorb those additional costs.
