Near Fosston, Minnesota, Kyle Vig has wrapped up his wheat harvest. “Where we got a little bit of rain, it was considerably better than on the heavy clay soil that didn’t get much rain,” Vig said. “The wheat ended up about average, so we were somewhat pleased given the dry conditions.” Vig is less optimistic about his soybeans. “They’re aborting all the pods on top, so I’m not looking for real good soybeans.” Corn is a different story. Vig said pollination was good and ears appear to be filling to the tip.
