South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson remains optimistic about the farm bill despite the Senate impasse. “If the current package came over, I would tell you I’d be pretty confident it would pass out of the House and then we’d have a farm bill.” During the Dakotafest congressional panel discussion, Johnson admitted there may be grumbling from his Republican colleagues about the Senate version. “We would lose some votes, but we would pick up enough Democrat votes, I think, to offset it.”
