A new state-of-the-art meat processing plant is open for business at Staples, Minnesota. Farmers Union Processing and Meats is a federally inspected facility for the processing of cattle, hogs and sheep. “With the USDA certification, it provides farmers the opportunity to market their animals locally, whether it is a restaurant or grocery store,” said Minnesota Farmers Union President Gary Wertish.
