Despite the hot, dry growing season, North Dakota’s potato crops are holding together. NDSU Extension Potato Agronomist Andy Robinson said irrigated acres are faring better than non-irrigated fields in the Red River Valley. “Insect pressures also remained relatively light,” said Robinson. “We always have our Colorado potato beetles, which can be a challenge. They don’t seem to have been really bad yet in this year.” Robinson said growers are also monitoring disease pressure, but so far there have been no major issues.”
