While farm profitability has softened, farmland values have stayed firm for five to seven years. “It’s been quite the run,” said Dave Krenz, loan officer, AgCountry Farm Credit Services. “The inventory situation is always pretty tight.” Krenz, who is based in Redwood Falls, said farmland rental rates are starting to ease. “With fertilizer costs and other inputs, it would be nice to see some land rental rates adjust.”
