Farmland values continue to hold firm despite lower commodity prices and tighter farm margins. USDA’s latest Land Values Summary reflects what Farmers National Company appraiser Kyle Nelson has been seeing across the Northern Plains. “The land value report isn’t a surprise; we’re still seeing some pretty strong sales activity.” While values have remained steady, Nelson doesn’t expect a significant decline unless market conditions or inventories change.”There’s not a surplus of land on the market for the most part, and there’s still good demand.”
