Senate Ag Committee Chairman John Boozman is reversing course by adding permanent year-round E15 to the Senate’s farm bill. The move gives ethanol supporters a boost and could help attract votes from corn-state lawmakers as time runs short before the Sept. 30 deadline. The biggest hurdle for the farm bill remains a compromise over SNAP funding, with negotiations continuing between Boozman and Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar. If lawmakers can’t reach a deal, another one-year extension of the current farm bill remains the most likely outcome.
