Additional farmer assistance and year-round E15 legislation remain on Congress’ to-do list, but Washington analyst Jim Wiesemeyer says neither issue is likely to move quickly. Wiesemeyer said House leadership does not expect to address the farm assistance package until after the November election. “That’s a clear case of later rather than sooner.” On year-round E15, Wiesemeyer says the Senate still has work to do before the legislation can advance. “We need to see the language of the Senate bill in order to assess its chances in the Senate.”
