Bell Bank is hosting its annual Ag Views Live Conference in Fargo today. The program features Bell Bank Director of Agribusiness Development Lynn Paulson and Virginia Tech Professor Emeritus Dr. David Kohl. Paulson said the audience can’t expect an unfiltered version of what’s happening in the ag sector. “I’ve been in this business for well past four decades, and this is the most bifurcated I’ve seen in the ag economy,” said Paulson. “If you’re in the livestock sector, these are generally really good times and well deserved, no doubt, but if you’re in the row crop business, there are some pretty stiff headwinds out there.” With the stress in the grain economy, Paulson is concerned about further consolidation throughout agriculture. In addition to Monday’s Ag Views Live event in Fargo, the conference will be held Tuesday in Mankato and Wednesday in Wisconsin Dells.
