North Dakota corn farmers spent the week in Washington, D.C., meeting with the state’s congressional delegation and federal agencies to discuss policy priorities. Gwinner farmer Adam Ladwig said trade, ethanol and conservation issues remain top concerns. He emphasized that North Dakota agriculture has unique needs that don’t always align with the traditional Corn Belt. “A lot of policy and changes tend to reflect more of the I-states versus localized North Dakota,” Ladwig said. “We’re still in a way different environment than a lot of people that are here lobbying on behalf of corn or farmers in general.”
