American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall was part of the news conference as House Agriculture Committee Chair Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson unveiled his ag labor bill. Duvall said labor shortages continue to threaten the future of American agriculture. “People ask me what keeps me up at night, yes, it’s labor, but it’s also opportunities for young people to come back to agriculture. Why would a young person coming out of college go into agriculture when he knew he wouldn’t be able to find enough workers to do the job or expand his parents’ farm and we have to fix these problems so he can do that.”
