USDA is expanding crop insurance options with a new pilot program for turfgrass growers. The Turfgrass Value Select program allows producers to insure the value of sod grown for lawns, golf courses and sports fields. The program is available in select counties, including parts of Minnesota, and includes optional protection for shallow losses. September 1 is the enrollment deadline for the 2027 crop year.
