The Trump administration’s plan to relocate more than 2,500 USDA employees is facing a new legal challenge. A coalition of labor unions, nonprofit organizations and local governments has asked a federal judge to block the move, arguing it would disrupt farmer services, food safety programs and agricultural research. The USDA proposal would move employees from Washington, D.C., to regional hubs including Kansas City, Salt Lake City and Charlotte, as part of the administration’s effort to place more agency staff closer to Rural America.
