Canadian farmers planted more canola, barley, corn and soybeans this year. According to StatsCan, canola seedings are record high, up more than eight percent from 2025. Barley acreage north of the border is up 9.3 percent and corn acreage grew nearly five percent. Canadian soybean acreage rose more than three percent with Manitoba acreage record high, up 16 percent. These gains came at the expense of wheat, down nearly six percent year-over-year.
