Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman John Boozman has released the Agriculture Act of 2026, a discussion draft designed to move the long-delayed farm bill forward. Boozman said an updated farm bill is urgently needed given the changes in agriculture since the last bill was written. Boozman hopes to gather stakeholder feedback before moving the bill through committee later this summer. “What we’d like to do is leave this out there for a couple weeks and then we’re going to come back after the two-week break and work hard to actually have a vote and get it out of committee,” said Boozman. “Senator Thune is one of our most active members on the committee. He’s totally into giving us floor time when we need it to get the farm bill passed.”
