Livestock markets continue to be one of the strongest sectors in agriculture, according to Martinson Ag Risk Management President Randy Martinson. Speaking on the latest “What’s Hot, What’s Not” market update, Martinson said feeder and live cattle posted another impressive week, supported by a bullish Cattle on Feed report and ongoing concerns about New World screwworm. On the grain side, Martinson said markets remain under pressure despite posting modest gains last week. Favorable weather across much of the Corn Belt continues to weigh on prices, although recent soybean purchases by China have provided some support. Martinson said traders are now turning their attention to two key USDA reports scheduled for June 30 — the Acreage Report and Quarterly Grain Stocks Report. Click here to listen to the full report.
