With the U.S. cattle herd at a 75-year low, JBS is shutting down two of its beef processing facilities. The Souderton, Pennsylvania plant has a daily slaughter capacity of 2,000 head and represents eight percent of the JBS beef processing capacity in the United States. The other closure is a value-added facility in Memphis. JBS officials said the production from these facilities will be shifted to its other plants.
