Artificial intelligence was a major topic at the Bushel Buddy Seat Conference during Ag Tech Week in Fargo. Bushel CEO and co-founder Jake Joraanstad said farmers who fail to adopt AI risk falling behind. We believe agriculture is the most important industry, but AI is the most incredible change we’re gonna see in the 21st century,” Joraanstad told RRFN. “You have to ad adapt it. You have to adopt it.” Joraanstad said future AI applications could act as a “super agronomist,” using farm records and agronomic data to support management decisions. What does this mean for the relationship between the ag retailer and the farmer? “They should have higher and higher expectations, the level of service should go up, the ease of doing business needs to increase,” said Joraanstad. “It should be so easy to do a transaction; you should be able to pay your bill, request a quote, get your pricing figured out on your fertilizer and be able to sign a grain contract in two seconds.” Bushel Wallet and the Bushel app are among the company’s latest developments.
