South Dakota Ag Secretary Hunter Roberts says passing nationwide year-round E15 access is long overdue. Roberts believes lower commodity prices actually create an opening to grow ethanol’s market share. “It’s a bad news thing that commodity prices are lower, but it creates opportunities to sell more of that product and introduce the average driver to what E15 is; it’s basically the same for cheaper, it’s a good deal.” With the House already passing legislation, Roberts is urging the Senate to finish the job. “I see Senate Majority Leader (John) Thune has doubled down on pushing that through. Let’s get it done. It’s been way too long.”
