With USMCA negotiations continuing, U.S. Meat Export Federation Vice President of Communications Joe Schuele has one goal. “We don’t really need anything to change in USMCA; we don’t really need to achieve any gains, we would just like the negotiators to do no harm.” USMEF wants the negotiations to move forward with an emphasis on food security and affordability. Outside of this review, Schuele is focused on a separate trade investigation. “Mexico has an anti-dumping probe going on with U.S. pork, ham and shoulders; our industry has submitted a tidal wave of information in response to that probe.”
