In the Pioneer Agronomy Update, Pioneer Strategic Account Manager Cole Erhlin reported that a lot of fields will be sprayed over the next couple of weeks. “We want to make sure that we’re using full labeled rates to extend residual control long enough to make it to canopy closure,” said Ehrlin. “It’s also never too early to plan for next year.” With canola expanding its footprint in the region, it is important to keep an eye on rotation restrictions of different herbicides if canola will be in the rotation next year. “Canola specifically is pretty sensitive to different herbicide residuals such as sulfentrazone and Pursuit; it never hurts to double-check before spraying to ensure you can keep your rotation on track for next year.
