Animal Agriculture Included Oregon’s Initiative Petition 28

A potential ballot initiative in Oregon would criminalize livestock slaughter, hunting, fishing and animal-based research. Animal rights activists have submitted more than enough signatures to qualify for the November ballot. If passed, the initiative will create a transition fund to help people train for new jobs if it puts them out of work. Industry groups, including the Oregon Farm Bureau and Oregon Cattlemen’s Association, are opposed to this petition.
