Syngenta Group CEO Jeff Rowe is pushing back on political scrutiny over its Chinese ownership. Rowe said the company has no ‘nefarious’ intentions in the United States. Three years ago, Arkansas forced Syngenta to close its research facilities in the state. Rowe said the decision to ban foreign-owned farmland was an overreaction that impacted innovation, jobs and food security. In his view, U.S. farmers would suffer if Syngenta divested its North American business.
