The Iowa-based Latham seed company is suing Bayer for allegedly monopolizing the U.S. market for biotech corn seed. In the civil lawsuit, Latham claims Bayer inflated costs for farmers and independent seed companies by controlling the market for herbicide-resistant traits. Bayer responded, saying the case has no merit.
